Dissertation/Thesis Format
Here is information on dissertation/thesis format.
Preliminary Pages
Formal headings should be utilized on the sections signed with asterisks*.
Some dissertations do not have preface, copyright page, acknowledgements and dedication, list of illustrations, list of tables, appendices.
I. Copyright page should be included when statutory copyright in your thesis/dissertation will be or has been claimed.
II. Title page:
1. In accordance with dissertation/thesis format, title must be a short but accurate and meaningful description of the research content.
2. Evade oblique references; substitute words for symbols, formulae, Greek letters, superscripts, etc.
3. Your full and legal name, as it is on registrar’s records, should be also on the title page.
4. Give the apt number of lines necessary for the approval signatures.
5. The original copy’s title page should have the authentic signatures of the research director and the committee members made in BLACK INK.
6. Double and center space all the text and lines.
7. The year and month entered at the page’s foot must be a month, the degree date must be conferred, not the defense date.
III. Abstract:*
o Following dissertation/thesis format, the abstract provides a brief summary of your dissertation/thesis, summing up clearly the problem examined, the methods used, and the main findings.
o The abstract should be in English and it may not go above 350 words.

VI. Table of contents together with page reference:*
o It comprises all introductory and concluding sections.
VII. List of tables together with page and titles references*
VIII. List of illustrations together with page and titles references*
