Is Format Important?
The academic paper which you write in order to increase your qualification and if in this work you r own idea and vies and also present your own research with proper results then this work can be called either dissertation or thesis. In this case, these two words have the same meaning. The word “thesis” is of Greek origin while “dissertation” is of Latin origin.
Dissertation /thesis is very important and responsible work and it requires a lot of forces, time and attention. You will present your work in front people who are specialists in the sphere to which your dissertation is related and it means that everything must be done as best as possible.
You may think that the main thing is to fins material to carry our research, to put in order its results and of course present all this stuff in understandable and persuasive form. Well, you are right, all above mentioned things consist the main part of the process of dissertation/thesis writing.
But there is one more moment, which is also very important for successful dissertation. This moment is called dissertation/thesis format. Yes, this is very important and will be checked no less strictly then results of your research. You write dissertation/thesis on certain subject and it means that there isn’t common format for all dissertations. It is clear that dissertation/thesis on English and dissertation/thesis on Chemistry are two different works, which belong to different spheres of science.
But there are a lot of moments which are common for dissertation/thesis format. Usually it concerns requirements about paper, print, spacing, numbers, citations, margins, and other similar things. That’s why it is advised to get all requirements and always have them next to you in order to have the possibility to consult and check out.
